三、课程介绍及选课指导:
1. Public Organization Management
This course aims to critically engage students to appreciate the methods used by managers and leaders of public and non-profit organizations to mobilize public resources in order to attain important public objectives. This course allows students to comprehend and master the administration of public organizations and to seize any potential opportunities related to the same. This course will further expose students to management theories, practices and structures as well as strategies, and tools, for managing public organizations in the current environments. Theory and research is used to bridge, develop, grasp various opportunities, and anticipate and manage challenges public organizations may encounter. Students will learn to reason, anticipate, and act as leaders and managers. There will be no required readings and the students will be able to learn in an interactive and enjoyable environment.
2. Public Policy Studies
This course aims to equip students with conceptual and theoretical abilities that are essential for understanding the complex world of public policy. Built on the policy cycle framework, this course covers major stages of the policy process. Theoretical knowledge will be illustrated with a variety of real-world cases from the East Asian context. There is no required reading in this course, but students are expected to closely follow the instructor in class and actively participate in seminar discussion. Grades will be based on attendance and class participation. Enjoy!
3.Selected economic and sociological perspectives on sustainable innovations
The aim of the course is to equip students with skills (a) to distinguish, critique and apply theories and modes of thinking pertaining to sustainable innovations and innovation processes from systemic and economic perspectives, and (b) to analyze innovation processes and propose solutions to remedy innovation failures and address sustainability. The core aspect of the course is to increase students’ capacity in analyzing the interactions between innovations and society. The lectures will highlight and discuss the issues related to the topic by combining the systems approach, microeconomics and institutional economics.
4.Sustainable and Healthy Built Environment
Built environment plays a critical role in people’s daily life. It is crucial to maintain the sustainability and healthy performance of built environment. Meanwhile, it is important to understand how to deliver sustainable and healthy built environment. Many of these undertakings are in form of projects. Therefore, it is necessary to understand the fundamentals of project and project management so that successful outcomes can be achieved, not only in traditional measures (e.g. schedule, quality and budget), but also sustainability and health related indicators. This course is designed to facilitate students’ better understanding of project management in the context of sustainable and healthy built environment. Upon the completion of this course, students will be able to identify the common challenges associated with project management to achieve sustainable and healthy built environment and consequently develop measures to deal with these challenges.

成绩记载与学分认定:选课名单确定后导入教务管理系统,不再接受补退选申请,成绩按实记载,不可撤销,不计入GPA。完成课程学习、考核合格的本科生,获得相应通识课程学分,也可以对照本专业人才培养方案,根据《公司本科生学分认定和转换管理办法》申请认定为专业选修课程学分。考核不及格的课程不保证有重修机会。
